Every API call enters the Onlist gateway, validates your key, picks an upstream provider according to your routing rules, forwards the request to that provider's endpoint, meters the response, and bills your balance. Upstream providers never see your Onlist credentials and you never see their upstream tokens.
You can use the default ranked pool or pin a specific upstream provider via parameters such as provider.only. Provider pages publish declared data retention, direct vs intermediated upstream, supported models, and price — so the providers behind your requests stay transparent.
Onlist is an AI API marketplace with provider onboarding, verified ratings tied to settled calls, dispute resolution, and channel health monitoring. Onlist is the service provider to you; upstream providers are its suppliers.
